Features such as AI conversation and group performance require a network connection. This chapter covers the two ways of connecting to WiFi, plus the hotspot mode.
2.1 QR Code Connection
On the home screen, flip to the 1st card "Wireless Network" and press D to enter
The screen shows a live camera view with the prompt "Point the WiFi QR code at the camera"
Open a WiFi sharing QR code on your phone:
Android: go to "Settings" → "WiFi" → tap the connected network → choose "Share" or "QR code"
iOS: the system Wi-Fi settings cannot generate a QR code directly; try the Shortcuts app or a third-party tool
Point the QR code on your phone screen at the robot's camera and hold it steady
Once the screen shows "QR code located", the robot parses it and connects automatically
When connected, the WiFi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen turns solid
⚠️ A 2.4GHz WiFi band is recommended. The 5GHz band may have compatibility issues that prevent the network from being detected.
2.2 Manual Network Selection
If you cannot generate a QR code, you can select a WiFi network directly on the robot and type the password:
On the "Wireless Network" view, press D to enter manual mode
The robot scans nearby WiFi networks and lists all available ones when the scan completes
Press A (up) or B (down) to move the highlight through the list
With the target network highlighted, press D to confirm
A virtual keyboard pops up for entering the password:
- Press **A/B** to move the cursor left/right
- Press **D** to select the currently highlighted character
When done, move the cursor to the "OK" button and press D to start connecting
On success, the WiFi icon at the top lights up and the screen shows "WiFi connected"
If the connection fails, the screen shows "Connection failed, please retry" — double-check the password and try again.
2.3 Enabling the Hotspot
If there is no WiFi available to join, the robot can start its own hotspot:
Enter the "Demos" card
Press B to switch to "Hotspot Mode"
The robot creates a WiFi hotspot; the screen shows the hotspot name and the access address
Search for and join that hotspot on your phone
Once joined, open the IP address shown on the screen (in the form
http://192.168.x.x:8080) in your phone's browser to access the video streaming remote-control page
⚠️ In hotspot mode, the robot itself has no internet access, so online features such as AI conversation will be unavailable.
