Assembly, IDs and Calibration
Puppy is a 5-servo structure, and assembly quality directly affects motion stability. Test the electronics on the desk before closing the shell.
Pre-Assembly Test
- Connect the mainboard, battery, switch, display, camera, microphone, speaker, light, and five servos.
- Check FPC cable orientation, especially display and camera cables.
- Check battery polarity and connector direction.
- Power on and confirm display, voice prompt, provisioning, and servo response.
- Flash the latest Puppy firmware through https://tools.luwudynamics.aiif needed.
Servo ID Map
ID | Position |
1 | Left front leg |
2 | Right front leg |
3 | Right rear leg |
4 | Left rear leg |
5 | Waist joint |
Follow the ID and orientation carefully. Wrong IDs may cause reversed motion, stalls, or mechanical damage.
Calibration
- Finish electronic wiring and firmware flashing.
- Power on and finish "小路同学" provisioning.
- An uncalibrated unit enters calibration mode.
- Wait for servos to move to center positions.
- Install legs and waist parts in the standard pose.
- Place the robot in the calibration posture.
- Triple-click the top button to exit calibration.
- Test low-amplitude actions first.
After disassembly or posture shift, triple-click the top button in standby mode to recalibrate.
FPC and Cable Routing
- Power off before plugging display and camera FPC cables.
- Check contact direction before insertion.
- Make sure the cable is fully inserted and locked.
- Route light cables through reserved slots.
- Before closing the shell, confirm cables are not pinched by servos, screw posts, or shell edges.
Mechanical Checklist
- Four legs are symmetric in the natural hanging pose.
- Waist twist has no obvious friction.
- Servo cables are not squeezed by legs.
- Battery lid opens and closes normally.
- Top button, BOOT button, and rear switch are not blocked.
- Display is stable, with no white screen, distortion, or flicker.
